The Maclab is a pretty sweet Mac/Linux computer lab unfortunately stuck in a dingy, stuffy, fluorescent-lit corner in the basement of the already oppressive and depressing Joseph Regenstein Library. The director of the lab wanted to breathe some pleasant life into the space while maintaining a contemplative and studious atmosphere, so he commissioned a nature scene spanning the back wall of the lab. His two favorite places (second to Hyde Park of course) are Maine and Colorado, so I crafted some kind of hybrid terrain. The mural is 50&#8242; x 7&#8242; in total, and it&#8217;s broken up into two panels by concrete pillar. For materials, I used mostly latex indoor house paint, plus some acrylics.
