The glaze is of an unnamed color, but it’s got these subtle silver starry splashes that I really like. Maybe you can imagine these glimmering by a benthal vent. Stay tuned because I made two more to complete the set, which haven’t been fired yet. Here are the tiles from a different angle:

I am taking a super great ceramics class at the Hyde Park Art Center, and this is my first completed piece. The pitcher is slab-built, and the glaze is “mamo yellow”. I’m looking forward to improving my technique, but this is not too shabby for now. It certainly beats the time I gave my mom a rock with ice cream sprinkles glued to it.

My friend Erica had an amazing birthday party at Lill Street Art Center, where we all made little rad projects. The Lill Street people glazed & fired them for us, and we got our creations back a few weeks later. Now I’m using this guy as a vase for some “lucky bamboo” (which is not bamboo at all). It really brightens up my office!
